SAṆGCHÁ
Meaning in English2
s. m, Fossil nummulites from the Mazari hills, Dera Ghazi Khan. They are used in native medicine on the strength of the doctrine of similitudes, on account of their resemblance to the products of disease. The story of their origin is that fifty damsels were surprised while bathing by their future husbands. They prayed to heaven for covering whereupon they sank into the earth and their clothes became the fossil nummulites.
