s. m, Corruption of the Sanskrit word Haritál. The name of a metallic drug, sulphuret of arsenic, yellow arsenic, orpiment; shutting up all shops in a market or bazár (on account of oppression, or on the death of a ruler or his relative):—godaṇtí haṛtál, s. f. White orpiment, or arsenic:—warkíá haṛtál, s. f. Yellow orpiment or arsenic.
