s. f, Disease; defect, fault; vice, a bad habit; a charge; filth, dirt; obloquy:—illat lagá laiṉí, v. n. To be addicted:—illat lagáuṉí, v. a. To charge, to reproach:—illat wichch phasṉá, v. n. To be charged in any offence; to be addicted to bad habits:—illat ná waiṇdí illatíáṇ ádat muḍh ná já, uṭ kanikkí chhoṛíye chuṉ jawáí khá, kuttá ráj bahálye chakkí chaṭṭaṉ já. Nature is not to be reversed, nor are habits ever lost; if a camel is turned into a corn-field, he picks out and eats camel-thorns, if a dog is set on a throne, he goes off to lick the handmill.
