s. m, Buck-wheat (Fagopyrum polygonum, F. esculentum, Nat. Ord. Polygonaceæ) grows in the Panjab Himalaya, and on the Sutlej. The leaves are used as a pot-herb. The round edged grain is the product of F. esculentum and the sharp edged grain of F. polygonum.
