s. m, small shrub (Zizyphus nummularia, Nat. Ord Rhamneæ.) abundant in many parts of the plains. Its fruit, though small, is much eaten, and at time is fairy well-flavoured. The bush is of value, and is largely cut each year to make heaped fences, and at times a very good and neat fence is made by sticking the branches upright and binding them with straw ropes. The leaves are beaten from the prickly branches, and largely used as bhúsá, fodder; i. q. Malhá.
