s. m. (M.), ) A mixture of barley-flour, turmeric and sweet-oil, rubbed over the bodies of the bride and bridegroom before marriage by the mirásaṉ or mirásí. Persons of rank rub a little on the arms or other parts. Among Jats the whole body is rubbed. Its supposed effects are to increase personal beauty and stimulate passions; i. q. Baṭná, Vaṭná.
