ਫ਼ਾ. [پنجا] ਸੰ. ਪੰਚਕ. ਸੰਗ੍ਯਾ- ਪੰਜ ਦਾ ਸਮੁਦਾਯ। ੨. ਜੁੱਤੀ ਦਾ ਅਗਲਾ ਭਾਗ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਰ ਦਾ ਅੰਗੂਠਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਂਗਲਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ੩. ਹੱਥ ਦੀ ਹਥੇਲੀ, ਪੰਜ ਉਂਗਲਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ। ੪. ਦਸਤਾਨਾ. "ਪਹਿਰੇ ਪੰਜੰ." (ਰਾਮਾਵ) ੫. ਹੱਥ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੰਜ ਉਂਗਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਹਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਕਾਗਜ ਪੁਰ ਲਾਇਆ ਛਾਪਾ. ਇਸ ਦਾ ਰਿਵਾਜ ਹਜਰਤ ਮੁਹ਼ੰਮਦ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੋਇਆ. ਅਨਪੜ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਉਹ ਲਿਖਤ ਹੇਠ ਪੰਜਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ. ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਜਹਾਂਗੀਰ ਆਦਿ ਵਿਦ੍ਵਾਨ ਹੋਣ ਪੁਰ ਭੀ ਕਾਗਜਾਂ ਪੁਰ ਪੰਜਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ. ਕਈ ਸਨਦਾਂ ਪੁਰ ਮਨਜੂਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਲਿਖਕੇ ਹੇਠ ਦਸ੍ਤਖਤ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਪੰਜਾ ਲਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ. ਕਰਨਲ ਟਾਡ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਸ੍ਥਾਨ ਵਿੰਚ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਜਿਕਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ੬. ਪੰਜੇ ਦੇ ਆਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਲੋਹੇ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਹੰਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੁਮਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਪਹਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ੭. ਦੇਖੋ, ਪੰਜਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ.
