s. m, Corrupted from the Persian word Magz. The brain, marrow,; kernel of a nut or seed, pith; pride, arrogance; intellect;—be magaj, a. Brainless, empty-headed; without kernel:—chár magaj, s. m. Four sorts of seeds viz., those of khírá, kharbújá, kaddú, tarbúj, used as a medicine and a cooling drink:—magajoṇ kaḍḍhṉá, v. a. To make out of one's own head; to invent:—magaj kháṉá, or magaj khálí karná, v. n. To worry or distract by an unceasing gabble, to tease, to worry, to harass:—magaj khapáṉá, khapáuṉá, v. n. To tire the brain, to worry and distract by unceasing weeping or gabbling:—magaj márná, v. n. To gabble, to prate incessantly, to fatigue one's self with talking:—rappar raháwan, magaj khapáwan. To cultivate rappar is to waste or exhaust the brain.
