s. m, plant (Polygonum Bistorta, Nat. Ord. Polygonaceæ) common at places in the Panjab Himalaya. On the Sutlej the root is said to be applied to abscesses, and it is used medicinally in the plains, being very astringent. See also Dakachrú, Paṭhánbhed.
