s. f, Corrupted from the Sanskrit word Lasy. Gluten, any glutinous substance; viscosity, stickiness, (i. q. Les);—(Poṭ.) The lower land where the water of upper parts of the land stands, land in a depression, the land which from its level receives the drainage of the vicinity:—las jamíṇ hai bahut sukhálí, malhar míṇh ná máṇge hálí. Las land is very comforting, the cultivator needs neither manure nor rain.
