s. m, lk, mother's milk; see also Múkrú:—shír khisht, s. f. A tree (Fraxinus floribunda, Nat. Ord. Oleaceæ) which grows on the mountains to the north of Kabal. It yields the shír khisht (manna) which is medicinally used. It is imported into the Panjab from Afghanistan, and is used as a laxative:—shír thohar, s. m. The Euphorbia tiraculli, Nat. Ord. Euphorbiaceæ used as a vesicatory and as a warm remedy in various diseases.
