s. m, magnificent plant (Eremurus specatbilis, Nat. Ord. Liliaceæ) which grows 5 or 6 feet high, with close spikes of white flowers to half that length, is common at places on the Upper Chenab and in the Jhelam basin. The leaves, when young are much eaten, both fresh and dry or cooked as a vegetable.
