s. f, small tree (Fraxinus xanthoxylloides, Nat. Ord. Oleaceæ) common in the arid tracts on the Sutlej, Chenab and Jhelum. It also occurs on the eastern skirts of the Suleman Range. Its wood is hard, heavy, and strong, but being small, is mostly used for plough handles, and for fuel. The leaves are used as fodder.
