Nanakshahi Calendar
The Nanakshahi calendar is a special calendar of Sikhism used to mark historical and religious events of Sikhism. This calendar is solar-based and is aligned with the Gregorian calendar. It was first prepared by Jagtar Singh Ji, a prominent scholar of Sikhism, and was introduced in 2003. The Nanakshahi year begins on 14 March (according to the Gregorian calendar). This date is counted from the birth year of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Guru of Sikhism, in 1469. The Nanakshahi calendar consists of 12 months.
