s. m, Corrupted from the Arabic word Kalmah. A word; the Muhammadan confession of faith, i. e., lá ilah, illillah Muhammadarrasúl Allah. There is no God but God, and Muhammad is the apostle of God:—kalmá paṛhṉá, v. n. To repeat the kalmá; to become a Muhammadan, to acknowledge one's superiority:—kalmá paṛháuṉá, v. n. To convert to Muhammadanism:—kufar dá kalmá, s. m. Blasphemy, profanitv.
