s. m, Corruption of the Arabic word Qází. A Muhammadan judge or interpreter of law (shará); a Muhammadan who has taken out a license for selling stamps and writing bonds; met. one who insists strongly or who resists persistently:—kájí núṇ rast deṉí, v. a. lit. To give rations to a Kájí; met. to go to ease oneself (a Sikh term):—míáṇ bíbí rájí táṇ kí karegá kájí. If a man and a woman are pleased (to marry) what can the Kájí do:—Kájí koṭreáṇ dí már s. f. A play among children.
