s. f, The stalk of a plant which has run to seed; a field- weed (Avena fatua) common in cereal crops throughout the Panjab plains:—kawár gaṇdal, s. f. A plant (Aloe perfoliata) used medicinally and eaten as a vegetable:—saroṇ dí gaṇdal, s. f. The stalk of the mustard which is cooked as a vegetable:—soá gaṇdal, s. f. A plant (Asparagus Punjabensis) which has slender acicular leaves and is common in parts of the plains of the Panjab, and east to the Sutlej; i. q. Chúṛhí saroch.
