s. m, plant (Nerium odorum) which is commonly cultivated in gardens for its flowers, and grows wild in the plains Trans-Indus. The stalks are in some places said to make hukká tubes. The leaves are considered poisonous, but are said to be eaten by goats:—tarikh gaṇdere, s. m. A small tree (Rhododendron arboreum) common at many places in the Panjab Himalaya, and also found in Trans-Indus. The gorgeous flush of crimson flowers adorns some of the hill stations about March. The flowers have a sweet-sour taste, and are said to make a good sub-acid jelly.
