A Kashmírí shawl, the ground work of which is divided into four squares; the name of a place in Afghanistan:—chár bhují, a. having four arms (Vishnu or Devi):—chár dawálí, s. f. A division of the Khatrí caste comprising four sections (gots), the members of which intermarry among themselves, but remain separate from other Khatrís, a man of that caste; a similar division among the Brahman caste:—chár jug, s. m.
