ਦੇਖੋ, ਜੇਸਟ। ੨. ਜ੍ਯੈਸ੍ਠ. ਜੇਠ ਦਾ ਮਹੀਨਾ. "ਹਰਿ ਜੇਠ ਜੁੜੰਦਾ ਲੋੜੀਅ ਲੋੜੀਐ." (ਬਾਰਹਮਾਹਾ ਮਾਝ) ਦੇਖੋ, ਜੁੜੰਦਾ। ੩. ਵਿ- ਜੇਠਾ. ਜਠੇਰਾ. "ਜੇਠ ਕੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਡਰਉ." (ਆਸਾ ਕਬੀਰ) ਇਸ ਥਾਂ ਭਾਵ ਯਮਰਾਜ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ. ਸਾਂਪ੍ਰਦਾਈ ਗ੍ਯਾਨੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਾਲ ਰਚਕੇ ਫੇਰ ਜਗਤ ਰਚਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਜੇਠ ਹੈ.

s. m, Corrupted from the Sanskrit word Jeshṭ. The name of the third month of the Hindu civil year beginning in the middle of May; a husband's elder brother:—míṇh páe Jeṭh Sáwáṉ jáe leṭ. If it rains in Jeṭh. Sáwan will lie down:—Jeṭh kiniyá sau diṉ giniyá. If it rains in Jeṭh count a hundred days, i. e. it will not rain for three months.
