s. f, shrub (Grislea Tomentosa, Nat. Ord. Lythrarieœ) with a fine red flower, which grows abundantly in many parts of the Siwalik tract, and in the Salt Range. The wood which is only used for fuel. The flowers are employed in dyeing, and in medicine are considered astringent, and applied as a plaster for headache. The leaves are used medicinally in the Punjab. In Kangra, part of the plant is stated to be used in the preparation of spirits.
