Meliaceæ, considered a acea:—tukhm ahalyan, s. m. The seeds of a variety of Rhus:—tukhn gáwah jamij, s. m. The seeds of Berberis lycium (B. Asiatica or aristata) used medicinally in a variety of diseases of skin, eye and ear. The alkaloid Berberine, which is bright, red and very bitter, is prepared from the plant. Rasauṇt is an extract rich in Berberine, it is a valuable tonic and anteperiodic:—tukhm jardalú, s. m. The stones of Prunus Armeniaca, Nat. Ord. Rosacea, used in a variety of diseases:—tukhm kaddú, s. m. See Kaddú:—tukhm kanauchá, s. m. A product of Salvia Moorcroftiana, Nat. Ord. Labiatæ:—tukhm kasuús, s. m. (1). It is a counter irritant and besicant, carminative, and the root is said to be anthelmintic; the juice is used in deafness:—tukhm kharbújá, s. m. See Kharbújá:—tukhm khatmí, s. m. The seeds of Althea rosea used medicinally:—tukhm khíriáṇ, s. m. See Khírá:—tukhm khurmá, s. m. The kernel of Phœniœ dactylifera, a warm remedy used in coughs and asthma:—tukhm reháṅ, s. m. See Rehán:—tukhm turb, s. m., The seeds of radish, see Múlí:—tukhm tarbúj, s. m., See Tarbúj and Hadwáná:—tukhm wasmá, s. m., The seeds of Indigofera tinctoria, the Indigo.
