TUKKUL
ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰਥ2
s. f, kind of paper kite. There are various forms of kites. The square kind is a guḍḍí, or if large a guḍḍá; the tukkul is the variety which is beaked. If the tukkul is constricted at the bottom if becomes a kup. Kites are flown with string prepared with a mixture of fine glass and paste, and the height of the art is to entangle the string with that of another kite and cut it (penchá laṛáṉá.) It is not only a favourite pastime, but further is not unoften a means whereby a good deal of gambling is done. It and pigeon flying correspond to the horse racing of the West in this particular.
