ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰਥ2

s. m, The same as Márú, Marghaṇg:—jaṇglí parúṇgí, s. f. An oak (Quercus dilatata, Nat. Ord. Cupuliferæ) which grows to the largest size of any oak of the N. W. Himalaya. It is common in many places on all the rivers and is abundant on the Sufed Koh, Trans-Indus. The large acorns ripen about August, and generally germinate within a very short time after falling. The timber is whitish, hard and heavy, and one of the best furnished by these oaks, but is said to be apt to warp, and to be subject to the attacks of insects. It is used for plough shafts. Jámpán poles, helves, door-frames, for charcoal. The leaves are stored for winter fodder for cattle and sheep.
