ਸੰ. पिणड्. ਧਾ- ਢੇਰ ਕਰਨਾ, ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨਾ, ਗੋਲਾ ਵੱਟਣਾ। ੨. ਸੰਗ੍ਯਾ- ਆਟੇ ਆਦਿ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਿੰਨਾ. ਗੋਲਾ। ੩. ਪਿਤਰਾਂ ਨਿਮਿੱਤ ਅਰਪੇਹੋਏ ਜੌਂ ਦੇ ਆਟੇ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਨ. "ਪਿੰਡ ਪਤਲਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਕੇਸਉ ਕਿਰਿਆ." s. m. (M.), ) ripe dates. (i. q. Khajúr); these are of two sorts:—piṇḍ lúṉí, s. f. Salted dates, i. e., ripened by being rubbed with salt and tightly closed for a night in an earthen vessel:—piṇḍ waṇḍí, s. f. Dates off the tree, i. e., naturally ripened:—piṇḍ páuṉe, bharṉe, v. a. To offer funeral cakes made of barley to the deceased relatives:—lúṉí piṇḍ dá kiháṇ sawád hai, aṇdareṇ dí wairí, Gáman yár, iho ḍaṇgareṇ dá kháj hai. What flavour have salted dates? Gáman love, they are an enemy to the stomach—fit food for cattle only.—Song.
