s. m, farmer's land, a husbandman's estate, with all its appurtenances, oxen, ploughs, well; the name of various plants:—1. Ballota limbata, Nat. Ord. Labiatæ, a small prickly shrub with yellow flowers occurring Trans-Indus. Jhelum and Salt Range tracts. It is cropped by goats and used in Opthalmia. 2. Anabasis multiflora, Nat. Ord. Salsolaceæ, cropped by camels and used for making sajjí and washing clothes. It grows largely in the Southern, and to some extent in the Central Punjab, is from 6 to 7 feet high and has rose coloured flowers. 3. Caroxylon fætidum, Nat. Ord. Salsolaceæ, found in the Central and South Punjab, used for the manufacture of sajjí. 4. Suæda fruticosa, common in the Punjab, reaches perfection in the Central portion. Used in making sajjí, as a camel fodder; kaskasá is the name of the dried leaves used medicinally; i. q. Gorá, Shorá, Metrá láná.
