s. f, coat of plaster put on a wall; paste (i. q. Lewí); a species of tamarix (Tamarix dioica, T. Gallica, T, Indica, Nat. Ord. Tamariscineæ), grows spontaneously in the Panjab, wherever river water reaches. The river banks are lined with the thickets of it. Leí is used instead of masonry for lining wells and making baskets; i. q. Pilchhí:—khar leí, nar leí, s. m. Tamarix orientalis, Nat. Ord. Tamariscineæ.
