v. n, To increase, to grow, to be enlarged; to advance, to go forward, to make progress, to be prolonged; to be used up. This latter sense diminished, or finished, is a very peculiar one. It would be a most unfortunate thing to say that a necessary thing had run out. This would be equal to a curse or ill wish, the euphemism, therefore, is to say it has increased, thus áṭá wadh gayá, the flour has increased, i. e., is finished; i. q. Vadhṉá.
