ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਾ
ਸੰ. शतपुष्पा ਸ਼ਤਪੁਸਪਾ. ਫ਼ਾ. ਬਾਦੀਆਂ. ਸੰਗ੍ਯਾ- ਸੌਂਫ ਪੋਹ ਮਾਘ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਸਾਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੱਟੀਦੀ ਹੈ. ਇਸ ਦਾ ਕੱਦ ਤਿੰਨ ਚਾਰ ਫੁਟ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ. ਇਸ ਦੀ ਤਾਸੀਰ ਗਰਮ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਦ੍ਰਾਵਕ ਹੈ. ਸੌਂਫ ਮੇਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤੜੀ ਦੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉੱਤਮ ਮੰਨੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ. ਨੇਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਬਲਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਛਾਂਟਦੀ ਹੈ. ਪੇਸ਼ਾਬ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਲ ਖਾਰਿਜ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ. ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅਰਕ ਅਨੇਕ ਦਵਾਈਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਤੀਦਾ ਹੈ. s. f, nise seed (Pimpinolle anisum), the seed of sweet fennel; Anethum fœniculum Fæniculum vulgare, Nat. Ord. Umbelliferæ) commonly cultivated in the Panjab plains as a pot-herb. Its seeds are considered carminative, and the root appears to be considered alterative and diuretic, it is given in anasarca and in colic.
